Being the top player on the Kakuchi Junior High Basketball Team hardly counts for much since they couldn't even make it past the third round of the Prefectural Tournament throughout Natsuki Ogata's junior high years. So, when his friends suggest he try out for the number one high school team, Fujiwara Academy, Natsuki agrees and heads to his aunt's hot springs resort to pursue his dream.
Unfortunately, Natsuki's small stature works against him as he struggles to prove his worth and earn the respect of his peers. Despite his setbacks, fate leads him to watch a practice game between Tachibana Mitsuki's St. Mariannu High team and Fujiwara Academy, where he witnesses the weak and struggling St. Mariannu team fall against Fujiwara's dominance.
Natsuki wonders if he'll ever achieve his dream of becoming the top high school basketball player, perhaps even with Fujiwara. But with such a large obstacle before him, can Natsuki overcome the doubts of others and rise to greatness?
