In the city of Metropolis Sternbild, the protection falls in the hands of those with special abilities coined NEXT. These individuals are mainly heroes who combat crime and promote their skills through media recognition.
A seasoned hero, Kaburagi T. Kotetsu or Wild Tiger, alongside his partner, Bunny, also known as Barnaby J. Brooks, are making headlines. However, the two are clashing with opposing views on their roles as heroes. Tiger prefers to act independently and avoid publicity, while the younger Bunny relishes being a public figure in the media.
Their working relationship is put to the test when a former hero called Lunatic begins murdering criminals instead of arresting them. Together, Tiger and Bunny must set aside their differences and fight this new foe.
