Shigeo Nagashima, a member of Kohnan school's baseball team, lacks skill on the field. However, fate leads him to a peculiar store where he purchases a magical bat, unknowing of its powers. The bat allows him to make contact with every pitch, but with a catch - he must pay a fee to the store each time he uses it.
During the championship game against Ougane school, Shigeo discovers a formidable opponent in Kazuhisa Inao, who possesses a magical glove that enables him to throw incredible pitches. Like Shigeo, Kazuhisa must also pay for the use of this item, but fortunately, he has the financial means to do so, unlike Shigeo who struggles to come up with the money.
