Despite struggling to cope with the skill levels of his teammates, Tsukamoto is dedicated and tireless. Even a painful foot injury doesn't dissuade him from running around the field. His spirited performances on the ground inspire the entire team, especially Kazama, who was hitherto indifferent to the sport. When Tsukamoto scores the winning goal, he discovers a passion for soccer and playing alongside Kazama.
Encouraged by Kazama, Tsukamoto decides to join the Seiseki soccer club, oblivious to the team's reputation as a national powerhouse. His lack of talent threatens to hinder his progress even before he clears the selection process. But Tsukamoto sticks to what he's good at - running - and forces his way into the Seiseki team.
