Naoki lived a typical, uneventful life as a high school student for 16 years until recent visions of eerie creatures disrupted his peace. A new student named Izayoi Takuma noticed Naoki's distress and divulged that he is a sorcerer in need of Naoki's assistance to combat the Grotesques. Izayoi suggested that Naoki possesses a unique power that requires their collaboration to unlock.
However, Naoki is disoriented and cannot recall his past, causing him to feel lost and bewildered. Despite Izayoi's persistence, Naoki longs to return to his ordinary and solitary existence.
