Yayoi is a spirited teenager who inherited her mother's spiritual abilities, which she puts to use protecting others. In a confrontation with Ura the devil, Yayoi's powers transform him into a black kitten. Despite Ura's persistent interest in consuming Yayoi's power, the two strike up an intriguing bond. They start living together, and Yayoi brings her feline companion along on her escapades.
